Pupil Premium
All schools receive a payment, or Pupil Premium Grant (PPG), for each child who is registered for free school meals (FSM) , those who have a parent in the armed forces and those who have been in continuous care for six months or more – £1320.
From April 2012 the Pupil Premium Grant was extended to include children who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years. Schools receive £300 Pupil Premium, per child, for children in Early Years.
We use data sources to help us identify barriers to attainment in school including ASP (Analyse School Performance), the Education Endowment Foundation, staff & pupil consultation & attendance records.

Sports Premium
From September 2013, the Government allocated funding directly to primary schools to support the provision of quality PE/Sport. Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. This means they should use the Sports Premium to:
- Develop or add to the PE and sports activities of school already offers
- Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.
There are five key indicators that schools should expect to see improvement across:
- The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 to 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school
- The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
- Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
- Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
- Increased participation in competitive sport
