Woodoaks Farm
Woodoaks Farm is just a short walk from the school. As a key partner, we are developing links to ensure our learners understand their contributions to caring for the environment and understand where food comes from.
This includes projects in school and at the Farm including some very mucky work with the Soil Association!
The Farm extends to just over 300 acres and includes arable and pastureland and around 75 acres of semi-natural woodland. The farm was donated to the Soil Association Land Trust to ensure it will be farmed sustainably into the future; producing good food, improving wildlife and continuing to welcome people.
As the next custodians of the farm, the team at Woodoaks are transitioning the land to organic to create a regenerative system that will support a climate friendly future with rich biodiversity and a vibrant and dynamic sustainable food hub.
Nestled in the heart of Woodoaks Farm is their signature 16th Century Grade II listed Black Barn:- a glorious, heritage rich building, that holds within its foundations an incredible opportunity to create a community hub that reconnects people back to food, farming and nature.
