Reception – World Book Day

For world Book Day Reception spent the day exploring activities around the book ‘Shark in the Dark’ by Nick Sharratt. The small world area had sharks and other sea creatures and non fiction books. ┬áIn the creative area the class all had the opportunity to make their own telescope like Timothy Pope from the story. They also supported their class mates who performed the story to the rest of the school by joining in with the repeated refrain ‘Could it be a Great White Shark?’ This afternoon we also had the pleasure of being joined by Year 4 to share stories and read to each other.

World Book Day 2019

We have enjoyed a wonderful day of reading! From reading detective activities to performance reading in assembly, active reading sessions to shared reading with parents. Thank you to all the children for being so motivated and eager to share their love of reading. It has been a pleasure to visit each class today and share in the excitement. Remember that reading opens many doors and the readers of today…are the leaders of tomorrow.
