Year 6 were extremely resilient with their sewing. The development in their skills and problem solving abilities over the project was incredible. Some pupils who couldn’t make a single stitch at the start of the project were able to design, create and sew decorative details onto their completed waistcoats. Year 6 were able to sew buttons, buttonholes, capes, masks, pockets, decoration and so much more. They learnt to do two different stitches and, most importantly, could thread their own needles confidently! The children supported each other beautifully ensuring that no one was left behind. They should be so proud of their achievements.
