In Maple Cross Explorers today, one group were using natural materials to help them tell the story of ‘Where the wild things are.’ They encountered many problems and had to keep testing new ideas to try and find a solution to their problems. Why not ask children in Reception and Year 1 how they overcame their difficulties?
The rain did not stop us from taking part in Maple Cross Explorers. One of the challenges today, was to build a camp fire. We hunted for dry sticks in the woods. The sticks had to be as long as our arm and about the width of a pencil. Then we managed to light a camp fire. One child said “I never thought we would be able to light a camp fire in the rain.”
