This term the children in EYFS are using their cooking sessions to prepare snacks for the other children. This week they have created frozen fruit kebabs. We began by making a list of all the fruit we would be using (this really tested our phonics!).
Working as a collaborative team they chopped, peeled and sliced various fruits. They then skewered the fruits before we placed in the freezer to allow them to chill.
Later in the morning the children shared the snacks with everyone else. They were a super chilly treat on a very hot and sunny day.
Ms Trickett and the Nursery class spent time today teaching parents some of the sounds (phonemes) and how to write them (graphemes). This also helped to develop the parents’ fine and gross motor control needed to be a proficient writer. Well done Nursery and well done parents!
